Trans Pan Magnet order - SHIPPED
While changing my tranny fluid and filter I noticed there was no magnet in the pan.
10.7 pound pull force! Too much? http://www.rare-earth-magnets.com/detail.aspx?ID=73 |
I kinda like that idea.... ;)

Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Shift ( Clank Clank, Uhh There goes a steel plate ) Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ( Slip, Clank , Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr( no motion )....
I think those would do ok for pulling the little metal powder or pieces to the pan and keep it there.. Looks interesting for certain.. Ever thought about sticking them on the bottom of the outside of the pan? __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |

EDIT: I think I will go ahead and order the pack of 5 one-inch magnets. Or maybe I should get some smaller ones to be safe? I want them strong so they don't fall off the pan. They are very strong, so I probably will only need one on the pan. |
After some more searching I think I'll go with a couple of these.
http://www.rare-earth-magnets.com/detail.aspx?ID=90 There's 25 in a pack, so if anyone wants any I can send some to you. |
Found some other good info. For some reason, the pull force of the 1" magnet I posted, compared to the same size magnet on another site is massively different.
10.79lb vs. 60+ lbs. I don't know why there's such a difference Pull Force - The force required to pull a magnet free from a flat steel plate using force perpendicular to the surface. The limit of the holding power of a magnet. |
