I made the mistake of trying to clean the magnet with my fingers under running water  Looks like you figured out wiping with a towel is the only way to go. Man, that metallic sludge is fiiiiine.

pretty clean if you ask me.

although why isn't the fluid red? almost looks like motor oil

Yea, my bronco's tranny was never that bad, but, I think next year I'll change it again. Probably only been 20K since the last one, as I only put about 2500-3000 miles on the bronco in the past 2 years.

The jeep, on the other hand, looks brand new every time I change it. 135k miles, and I've done 3 changes on it so far.

Other than the brown stuff it doesn't look bad at all!

Did you "flush" or just drop the pan?

harofreak00 12-10-2006 08:09 PM

not that many shavings with those miles... looks good

PRD2BDF 12-10-2006 08:20 PM

nice, I know why it has so little shavings, it has the 2.84 gear! :!:

Sorry, Ryan, just had to....

I agree, it looks good. It must have been changed at least once, once before. Hmmmm, once once before. I guess that means it was changed twice? :D

wjcollier07 12-10-2006 09:52 PM

very good. now we'll see what mine looks like when i do it in a couple weeks....hopfully good!

So does it feel any different ryan?
