check with your local tire shops.
Avoid Calling around, just drive to the shop. Often shops will keep tires that still have more than 50% tread remaining behind the store.
I had to go to 4 different tire shops but at the 4th shop we found a set of Goodyears (255/55/17) with 80% or more tread left. The best part about it was all 4 tires were $100 mounted and balanced.
The car handles and drives 1000% better now.
Just a tip for people that are strapped for cash and have bald tires. Or people like Harofreak00 that have reall realy really really tiny tires

the older person in me talking........ back in the day, the tire shops didnt even charge you.
If you were willing to fish through the pile they would give them away.

I like new tires! I'll be needing some 17"ers this summer. Unless I found some used Potenzas at a good price, I'm going new. 16" Potenzas cost me $400. Hopefully 17s won't be too much.

This concept is new to me... Don't people give tires to the tire places because they have no tread? Well, I guess I'll give it a shot; my rears are more bald than Steve Balmer
