Default i can chew gum, but i cant figure this out

how do you get the rear view mirror off?

there is no screw...only these little tabs...

i tried pushing them both ways...but i didnt wanna chew it up to badly...

whose the expert??

bet u cant guess what im doing...ya know that orange light...ya well its not gonna be orange anymore...haha

Step one: Take out heavy blunt object
Step two: Strike windshield with above object
Strp three: pick up mirror and remove remaining glass with a putty knife

Checked my Chiltons, no instructions for removal, only installation.
Looking at your pic though, they look like simple spring retainers. I think if you slide the mount UP, it should just slide off. Might take a bit of umph though, so be careful.

If that doesn't work, try fiddling with the two little slots on either side, they look like they were made to accept a flat-head(A screwdriver, I mean, not your own personal cranium. ).

anywho...lemme go work on it a bit more...

i really dont feel like cracking a $1200 windshield in the cold though

I remember my sister had an 87 Firebird...she was driving it and I don't know how she didn't see it, but she hit a HUGE pothole, and the rearview mirror just fell off the windshield I'm not suggesting you go find a big pothole Good luck!
