i can chew gum, but i cant figure this out
how do you get the rear view mirror off?
there is no screw...only these little tabs...
i tried pushing them both ways...but i didnt wanna chew it up to badly...
whose the expert??
bet u cant guess what im doing...ya know that orange light...ya well its not gonna be orange anymore...haha

Checked my Chiltons, no instructions for removal, only installation.
Looking at your pic though, they look like simple spring retainers. I think if you slide the mount UP, it should just slide off. Might take a bit of umph though, so be careful.
If that doesn't work, try fiddling with the two little slots on either side, they look like they were made to accept a flat-head(A screwdriver, I mean, not your own personal cranium.
).

I remember my sister had an 87 Firebird...she was driving it and I don't know how she didn't see it, but she hit a HUGE pothole, and the rearview mirror just fell off the windshield
