What tire pressure for better gas milage?
What tire pressure does everyone run for the best fuel economy? I usually run 30 psi with my 17'*, but went up to 35 psi in hopes of getting a little better gas milage, or will it really matter at all?

I usually run mine 30-31 psi (cold). That seems to be the optimum inflation pressure for me. I think that is the recommended pressure also, haven't checked driver door placard lately.

I usually run 32-35psi cold. I do a lot of freeway driving and that seems to work well for me. I get a hair over 30mpg in my '99 GP so no complaints.

I've gotten 33mpg on 35psi with crappy unbalanced and uneven tires. I thought 35 was low but it seems to be doing fine so I'll stay there. I think for long highway trips slightly higher pressure is good.

Higher pressure should give you better MPG. I would stick with the car'* recommended pressure for handling reasons. I would think you would have to run it quite high to see much of a difference anyways, and then if you crash because doing it, (less tire to road contact area at higher tire pressure) it kind of defeats the purpose

run the recomended tire pressure. too high pressure will ruin the tire in the middle of the tread, too low will distroy the side walls. my cousin hydro planed and hit a tree because of too high of pressure in his tires.
