At 1300lbs I don't think I would want to tow daily, but if you do it every now and again you shouldn't have too much trouble.

I agree that adding a tranny cooler would be a good investment.

If you have the ELC system, I think that will give you all sorts of fits every time you hit a bump and the trailers receivers transfers the weight and the ECL commands to pump the shocks up. If you have the ELC, I would wire in a disconnect switch and shut it down after they pump up to level the car after the trailer is connected.

The biggest problem will be to find a hitch and receiver that will work on your car and still give you ground clearance.

I don't think he has ELC, but even if he did, the system has timers on it, I think they are in the neighborhood of 15 seconds.

Good info on having the ELC or not.

The only timer I can find is the exhaust solenoid on the system. It will set a DTC if open for more than 10 seconds (based on my 2000 FSM).

I'm still digging though.....

Have fun with the gas mileage decrease while towing that thing LOL. I owned a Avalanche with a 8k towing capacity and when towing a 3k pontoon boat my mileage went from 21MPG to about 6-8MPG.

My dad has an Avalanche, and since owning it new he has hated it. In the shop alot and his only gets about 15-16 MPG avg. He got rid of an old F150 and actually misses it I think. Thing was bulletproof

Must have got a fluke build. Mine was bullet proof and the only time I had got crappy mileage was when I was towing my buddies pontoon boat. I loved that truck.

I could actually go from Crestview, FL to West Memphis, Arkansas on a single tank.
