Just got done clearing the snow and ice from around my car -spent 1 hr doing that (it's wet and heavy).
Then I pulled the car out on the road so it was out of the way of the snowblower clearing the driveway. Got out on the road and noticed that although I had just cleared the driveway and wheel wells before I came in last night at 10PM the wind had blown the snow all under the car into the wheels, where the hot brakes melted the snow and then it froze. So I had about 10-15 minutes of fun cleaning the rims and wheel wells.

BTW, I have had this problem with all the cars I've ever driven in the snow (they all had aluminum rims). My dads cars that have steel rims/hubcaps have this problem too -it's from driving in snow deeper than the the distance from the ground to the rim and it getting caught in there. Then the brakes heat it slightly and it sticks and builds up.
Evolution of a sort.

I saw a newer eclipse tonight by my apt. Had some nice chrome factory rims. On the inside of it there was a perfect ring of snow, that was about 2mm from the calipers.

Neighbour's '87 LE. 14" crosslace wheels. Haven't seen these suckers on any other Bonneville, ever.
