Default smaller pulley squeak

ever since i got my smaller pulley, 2.55", it has been eating belts...

the first one seemed to be shredding the belts into microdust all over the engine compartment...

the 2nd one, another AC delco brand, has been squeaking LOUD for a few weeks...

anyone else have problems with installing a smaller pulley?

gatorback will prolly be my answer huh?

Pull your pulley, clean the shaft and threads, and re-install it with a gatorback. Consider getting an oversized idler, too. Your tension may be off.

the tension is off...

my dad put his tool on it as the engine was running today...he could make the squeak go away by tightening the idler...

whats keeping me from just getting the next size smaller belt...

does anyone know the stock size?

Might need a new tensioner. Mine was going bad, so it was replaced promptly after the pulley install. It would whine and make grinding noises.

and buy pulling it one way, he could make it grind, slow down, super squeak...

pulling the other way he could make it stop completely...

That'* the tool used on mine too. When we pulled mine off, you could spin the pulley, and it would grind very bad, and not spin very freely.
