I have those (the SRIXON4) and I like the handling of them I can corner much harder than I initially thought Bonnie could (with out squealing them). But the sidewalls are a bit stiffer than most and will in-turn stiffen the ride a bit. Oh and if your looking for quiet tires these are not the right choice, I just turn my Empeg up more.

i was actually leaning towards the second ones. well im not leaning toward anything right now because i dont need tires yet. but the second ones got way better reviews. and i dont care about tire noise. just crank the stereo more.

Check into the Yokohama Avid Touring on the same site. Very good ratings, I bought 4 for the 95 $350 out the door with roadhazard warranty and mounting/balancing. Real smooth quiet ride and they stck pretty well when pushed. Not quite the same as driving the SSEi with the Goodyears, but for the cost, nice value.

i think that on my daily 10 miles or so of gravel road that those tires would just disentigrate. :)

10 miles of gravel?? Get some knobbies!!

LittleHoov 09-18-2003 11:48 AM

actually not a half bad idea :D but its like 5 or 6 miles one way. and then of course back the other way. i usually drive between 25 and 30.try to stay closer to 25 though unless im in a hurry. now if im drivin the ranger its more like 35-40. we used to get flats all the time with wussy tires. my dads got some like 8 plys on the ranger and not a single flat. but man do they ever suck in the snow!! the tread pattern is very similar to the front tires on most 18 wheelers. but i do need something that will hold up to a little abuse.

I can get 'em here at Wally world for about $130 a piece mounted and balanced.
