Tire Direction

Okay..look at my signature picture and look at my tires..i was informed by someone by PM that they are on wrong due to the V's going the wrong direction..anyone know anything about this subject..or what future problems could be?? Just curious cuz i don't wanna f* up my tires.

Your left rear is wrong. From the rear, the V on unidirectional tires should point up. Think of it this way, as the tire rolls through a puddle, it would push water outward to get to the pavement without hydroplaning. Your left rear would is going to pull water towards the middle of the tire, which is bad.

Yup, the "V's" or Arrows should be pointing forward....the left rear has got to be changed. So needless to say, rotate the one from the front to the back and it's all good.

Swapping the front to the back wont change anything. You will need to dismount the LR and mount it correctly. But check the front tires and see if they are right or not also. The tires should be marked on the sidewall with an arrow showing direction of rotation. 8)

I hope an ASE Cert. didn't install that one.

How do the front tires look?

Phantom Apr 27, 2003 10:15 PM

so i gues that you would not rotate the tires because the first time the back 2 would be backwards then on the seccond time all would be backwards

You can rotate them but only front to back. You can not swap sides.

Swapping the front to the back wont change anything.

Well, i mentioned this because maybe the installed had gotten 2 of the wheels mixed up and mounted them in the wrong order, thats all......
