Post Throwing out old parts?

Well my car'* pretty much ready to go. I've replaced a bunch of parts this past week, so I have some old ones to get rid of. I usually would just put them in the trash, but I was wondering what all you guys do with your old junk parts. Is there a place that takes them back to recycle (...like used oil) or do you just throw 'em out?

Repair shops and part stores take used oil. Metal parts go to the scrap yard, rest thrown out. Thats what i do with them.

If the stuff is still good, it goes on my shelf and used if a car comes in and needs it.

at work we have a giant bin that we throw all metal into. If you have a local recycling program you could contact them and see if they would take it, what parts are you getting rid of any way?

Depending on how much you have , finding a metal recycling center is the best bet for metal, aluminum is worth a decent amount of cash, cast irons and steels are less but still worth the time to prep them.

A filler neck, brake pads, old spark plugs, wiper blades, a lug nut and stud that I had to break off, spark plug wires, hoses. And a bunch of old broken parts that my dad has collected in the garage over the years (a dead water pump, some old exhaust pipes, etc). It'* mostly just small junk.

I've got a dead blower motor still kicking around here. I hear people sometimes need the wheel, but the motor itself is dead. I'm waiting for my next junkyard run to casually drop it off.
