I havea 1998 bonne which has not too much time left and its a beater car. I was thinking of trying to brace the bottom of the car and cut the roof off into a convertible. Idea'* suggestions and yes I do know its not the smartest idea but again its my second car and well just another GM pos just looking for tips and tricks if anyone has done it.

so no advice so helpful, besides isn't taking the roof off and making the car a convertible a nice mod job, if not difficult.

It would definitely be a mod job, but whether it is nice or not would be in the eye of the beholder and based on how well it was done. As far as being difficult or not...cutting the roof off the pillars is a piece of cake. Making it all flow back together and be safe will be the biggest challenge.

ROFL!!! I could take the time to paste some guotes here and respond but feeling lazy. Are you go0ing to pust some sort of softop on it, or just let it get soaked? Hey I'm all for the wierd and unexpected. I want see pix as well! Had a friend back in the late 70'* that sawzalled a AMC Gremlin into a short bed pickup. Bent the roof down 90 degrees behind the front seats and cut a back window out to. Which was a peice of plexiglass siliconed in place. Kinda cruse, but he got alot of attention.
