I found a '97 Olds 88 LSS Supercharged for sale and I am wondering what the car is worth. It is loaded (or at least what appears to be loaded)...sunroof (or moonroof, not sure which in this case), leather, power everything, etc.... It is black with the gold trim, and looks really good. I have no idea what its worth, and the blue book value is kind of worthless. If you found the car and the asking price was $4k, what would you offer them for it...

My tranny went in my STE yesterday, and although I plan on eventually fixing it, its paid for so I could actually afford to get a loan (from my parents of course...being a minor blows) and buy it and then fix the STE later instead of worry ing what I'm gonna do about it. But I don't want to spend a lot of money on a car if I do buy one.

4k for those miles actually sounds like a good fair price, so of course, drop 500 and see what happens. I think any LSS you find will be loaded to the gills. Great sleepers. Just remember, it'll be the heaviest car in the household

WIll it honestly be heavier than the 2k SSEi??? I don't think its that heavy...is it. If so...oh well. It shouldn't take much cash to make it fast enough. I have always liked the Supercharged LSS'* because of the fact that they are awesome sleepers, espeically modded, because you know very well that if I had one it wouldn't be stock by the time I got it home. Thats what I wanted for my first car but they were a little too expensive at the time, and I found something that I thought was gonna be more fun. Its costing me way too much money to drive this STE, especially now with everything breaking lately (the car is at that point where its just old enough for everything to start breaking at the same time due to age), so I really want to set it aside and try something else for a while...the LSS is nice enough to be an everyday cruiser, yet has my favorite engine making it reasonable for the straight-line too.

I was also thinking that was a fair price, but it has a fair amount of miles on it as well. I was thinking exactly as you were, I figured if I end up trying to buy it I'll offer $3500 and see where it gets me.

It'll be lighter then the SSEi. I was in Fantastic88'* new 97 LSS the other day. Apparantly they're very rare with the L67. He has a moonroof too, white with gold trim. Helped him with his Boost controller adjustment...

FINE car. Very nice, and not too cluttered inside for how many features it has. Good price, and you know what you're getting into.

Yes, the L67 is a rare engine in that car. Most people that know they were available with L67'* thinks all LSS'* were L67'*, and they definatley were not. Its not really rare, but I guess it is kinda rare. Of course, I drive a car that they only built 1000 of, so of course it doesn't seem too rare to me.

I really want one, but I have to see what I can do about $. Being 17 is a PITA.

I've seen a couple around here. They are very nice looking cars. The untrained eye would never suspect it'* packing some serious heat.

I sold my 1999 SSEi with 163,xxx miles for $6k US. $4k is a very good price for any L67 car with under 175,000 miles.
I just did a local search (within 200 miles of me) and the cheapest Series II L67 car I could find was a 1997 SSEi (looks identical to my 1999) for $4995. Found 2 1997 GTP'* also for $5k, but only one listed the miles (135k).
One thing that can be an advantage is that typically an Oldsmobile was owned by a middle-aged -senior citizen, and you be pretty much rest assured that it was well taken care of. But none-the-less, get yourself a carfax and take the VIN to the local GM dealer and have them do a GM Service History report on it.

The fact that its a L67 powered LSS has a rare pricetag of its own. I'd say go for it as a collectors items...then turn the collector into a street sweeper.

And here I thought I would remain the omly person with a 1997 LSS */C. Its a very sweet car and a blast to drive. As Jason stated I have the sunroof, auto climate, CD/ cassette, TC, 12 way power seats w/lumbar, auto dimming interior lights, and much more. It has the gold pakage, kinda like the Aurora. I paid $5025 down from $5400. Trust me if you get this car jaws will drop, I can't talk about street racing but you know waht I mean. I NEED a track in my area. As for weight its in between a GTP and SSEi. GTP=3420, LSS=3512, 96'99' SSEi=3647, and 2K + SSEi=37??. So there you have it.
