I'm so glad that the 3800 in the Bonne is so much easier to work with, those dogbone mounts are horrible.
the dogbones are cool, you take the bolts off tilt the engine forward with a big bar and stick the bolt in the hole under the one dogbone. then you can get at anything on the back better than on a h-body

Now I'm kinda wishing I had the top dogbone on my Bonneville so I can rotate the engine forward. Would make tuneups a lot easier.

When I flushed my power steering last summer I jacked up the passenger side of the car and removed the front tire. Then I could access the pump and cap. I took the serpentine belt off and turned the power steering pulley by hand to pump out the old fluid. I made sure to never let the reservoir go dry during the process.

Are your mounts the same as mine? I just unbolt the front tranny mount (puck mount) and rotate the engine fairly easy.

No sir it is not the same. Its 2 bolts to the trans and 1 to the forward crossmember for the forward mount. And then I have the dogbone in the rear that connects to the trans diff cover and the rear sub-frame. Which is probably why Billboost wonders why it takes me so long to pull an engine out.

Jason I know on the PA there is enough room to at least remove the PS reservoir cap.
If you dont want burns, only try to remove the cap when car is cold only.
If on the imp you can not get the cap off because of lack of room I dont know what to recommend.
I use a veterinary syringe ( guess it works on cows too) with a 14" long rubber hose attached to syringe to remove the old PS fluid. I found the fluid to be extremely dirty especially from the bottom of the pump. I filled with fresh PS fluid, started the car for a minute rotating the wheels back and forth and then suctioned out the fluid again.
The fluid came much cleaner on the 2nd suctioning and I refilled with lubegard PS fluid.
The pump immediately became very quiet as I expect the LubeGard synthetic removed most of the friction and it remains clean now at 20k miles since it was changed out.
