Question Windshield Glass Chip Repair Questions

Is there a DIY repair kit that is cheap enough to cover small chips that anyone would recommend?
Yes I know the pro'* use a vacuum fill etc..but my insurance company no longer covers chip fixes and I think they want $75+ to fix them.
BTW my chip is so small I wonder if I could just use a drop of resin on it for now.
How about a drop of crazy glue LOL??
Our glass deductible is $200 and I might as well wait until it cracks across & get a new windshield installed.
Sad to say if I want chip coverage now I have to get aftermarket comprehensive coverage..have to look into it.
We only have one supplier of car insurance here called ICBC (insurance corp of British Columbia) & they use to cover chips but according to the web not anymore..they want u to pay $200.

Dunno, but down south here, my insurance company would rather replace the whole thing and I pay no deductible.

Is the crack big enough for you to catch your fingernail on it when dragging it across it?
If so here I am pretty sure that can keep you from passing an Inspection.

Permatex makes a windshield repair kit, I read that you need to watch some online videos somewhere on how to use it, else it does not work well.
May be worth a try.

It is only a chip from stone impact William, about the size of a very fine drill.
A 1/8th inch line is appearing, not on the surface yet..
The Pk Ave windshield is real thick and if it would have been a lesser thickness it probably would have shattered. Quite the smack when it hit at hwy speed.
Going to drop by a glass shop and see what they say....and call insurance co too....
Will see what brand of repair kits are also avail here..Thanks for Permatex idea...

I Went to local glass shop today. $56 to repair the chip.
They drilled through first layer of glass and then filled it, the UV cured it.

So now looks like this..

Much better & should not have to worry about it cracking this time.
Can anyone tell if this decal is aftermarket or if this was original windshield..??
