I hate to interrupt this love fest, but back to your original question. Have you checked to see how much boost your supercharger is putting out? I am not sure how much the M62 is supposed to run at, but the M90 runs at 7 to 9 psi at WOT. Mine was running at 2 until I put a new boost control solenoid on ($25 on Ebay). Now it runs at 9, and obviously the whine is louder. If you don't have a boost gage, it is a simple matter to hook one up to see what pressures you are running at.

Well, the joke was how you mentioned you were the first year. Actual first year was 92. And you technically should have more power than the 92. They didn't have the same rockers, which means more drag. Then the M62 was changed for 94/95 and whole new motor (SC that is) in 96.

ok, building on this, were there any changes between the '94 and '95? i know they changed some stuff in the PCM but i'm not sure if that was done in '94 or not. As far as I know the '94 and '95 were the most powerful series 1 available?

2kg4u, i have the same problem, mine only runs at 2 pounds of boost and if you give it anymore power it start to miss horribly and refuses to accelerate anymore, so do you think that the boost control solenoid might be the problem? o and i do have a boost gauge that goes up to 10 pounds of boost but i have no idea if that is wat the super puts out

All SC 3800'* were engineered to run around 7-9 lbs of boost at WOT.

Sputtering etc is usually the car'* way of saying something is broken. Usually tune up or vacuum related.

94 and 95 were very close in most ways. They shared the same pcm (programming may have been slightly different), To my knowledge the drivetrain didn't change beyond some revisions to the transmissions.

on mine, the boost gauge will actually go up to nearly max though but the engine sputters and won't make any power. it does so much better if i don't go past ~2 psi then it accelerates like a dream
