Default supercharger silencers?

hey, i have no idea if this is true, i cant remember where i ever herd it from but my question is that is there silencer ports on our superchargers? becasue as i said i dont know where i herd it from but if there are silencer port can they be plugged to make them sound much much louder with a louder scream when you accelerate? so 2 questions, are there silencer ports and if so can they be plugged to make it sound louder?

and if i sound like an idiot please feel free to say so

Silencer ports are the angle slots.

Yes, they can be welded shut

It will only make the whine a little louder. But what it really does is give a nice whine while the engine is at idle.

and welding them shut wont effect preformance, and they wont decrease the life of the supercharger? in short it wont hurt the supercharger? it will just make it sound beastie?

Will not decrease performance, will not effect the life of the supercharger. Here'* a taste of the sound.

You got the little known option too huh...gotta love that flickering driver center and compass...

I have been waiting for my charger to die to seal up them silencer ports on the new one,it has been 3 yrs waiting but ....
I swear this thing rattles like it about to blow up but I drive the hell outta this car and it sounds the same it did when I bought it for $700 ...

I was tempting the idea of welding the silencers on mine when i get a chance to have it apart for a week or so, but she screams pretty loud after just putting the intake on... i drove around the block a few times and a guy a block and a half down the road turned around when i put her to the floor and looked at me with this puzzled look as i flew by... twas awesome

Eaton has specifications for porting the M90. The silencer slots were put in place just for silencing. Their location adds turbulence to the air going into the LIM, so plugging the slots restores about a horsepower or less of lost performance. Also, Eaton advises that you do not port the silencer slots as this increases turbulence. Just port out the triangle and close the silencer slots to get a slightly better supercharger and more whine.
