Default Sunroof Mod?

I really don't like the way the sunroof opens on the GXP, i'd rather have it coming out on top then going in inside.
i really dunno much about them, i was wondering if anyone have an idea or have done it before were they modded the sunroof to open out like it does on the GPs.
if its possible, i'm not expecting to use the same motor or tracks. i know it wont be easy, i'm just curious if it can be done
any input is greatly appreciated
thanks
Samz

Anything can be done, But how much work do you want to put in it?

Id say Grab a sunroof from a 1998-2003 GTP for 100$ then, Measure etc, Since you already have a sunroof i see this being alot easier then with out one. I can get glass measurements if you need.

Is there any actual advantage to having it slide out? For one, I know for a fact it won't open as wide as our current ones do, so you'll have less usable sunroof, and as a second point, you're creating more drag. It will be minimal, but it will be there.

this is all pending to the fact that a GTP has the same size moonroof

it might not..personally though i like the bonnevilles sunroofs better due to the fact that its in the car and not out of the car..cause when its open down the highway you can feel it drag, not to mention (and i know this applys more to me than most) but ive seen what happens to moonroofs that open like a GTP when you have subs and stuff

hell my buddies GTP (03) he had 2 12'* hitting 146 decibals and his moonroof would flex a good half inch and make an annoying rattle when it was open with the subs on

just my two cents..

On the GXP'* at least the sunroof slides back completely to where only 1/2" of the glass can be seen. Impossible to do with the GTP type sunroof.

that would be great it'll save me so much time
i appreciate your help
i also think i can manage using the current glass, but again thats just me guessing... i might strip my GXP'* roof tomorrow and do my brother'* roof the day after or whenever i get a chance, just to see if i can find anything different or something that will stop me from doing it

# 1 reason, i'll admit it right away, just because it looks better, thats right, looks matter a lot lol

# 2 i used to notice way more air flow in the GP than the bonne

# 3 i have no other mods in mind :( lol

as for it opening honestly half an inch or and inch less space makes no difference to me... again im just curious if it can be done.
