Since gas is about 4 dollars a gallon right now i was wondering what certain mods can improve gas mileage and what mods can hurt it? any help would be appreciated

Gutting my airbox and putting in a K&N, new plugs and wires, and the right brand fuel have always done a little to help my mpg. Although I just put on a 3.4 pulley so I always want to jump on it to play with the new power, so the last tank has sucked!

Take that pulley off, and remove the chip. Everything else looks great. You get your car out of the tree yet?

Taking the pulley and the chip out will hurt performance but i might consider since these gas prices are making me broke. I havent heard from the insurance company yet but im pretty sure its going to be fixed and only for about 500 bux because of my insurance. But i think i might get away with this one because i made up some story when the cops showed about why i had to swerve into the tree and i told them i wasnt speeding . So if the insurance believes all of this then im all set.

I don't remember if you've commented on this.. or maybe I'm just too lazy to check your other topic.. but as long as you've not been charged by the cops.. you shouldn't have too much problems with your insurance.

Heck, the biggest difference in mileage that I get is whenever I remember to pump up the tires. Those slow leaks in two of my wheels are killing my mileage. It makes such a difference when I get them back up to 35 psi; the car is much zippier and responsive when it isn't fighting its own rolling resistance so much.

i just replaced plugs, 02 sensor. also ran some fuel injector cleaner through the system. hoping for a little better mileage. these aren't mods, but just basic maintenance!

Yep! I did the same a few months ago, along with new wires and PCV. General Maintenace is the key here. Tire Pressure should also be checked regularly. BTW, when was the last time anybody checked their Spare Tire(60 PSI)
