Default washing ....now waxing!!!

why we're on the previous subject of how you wash your car.....
How often do you wax your car?
What kind of wax do you use?

I like to use Zymol cleaner wax every 2-3 monthes or so

Do a google search on car detailing. Yes, there are some fanatics out there (but, hell, if I had a $100k car, I could go nuts too). Anyway, there is alot of good info out there. The best thing I found is that detailing "clay" that you use before waxing that removes everything from the clearcoat of your car. Once that is done, every wax makes your car'* paint look a mile deep!

Yes I have Eagle one to be the greatest Wax so far.. I"ve recently switched from Mother'* to Eagles just at the end of last summer ( I hate turtle wax including those with the lipstick color fix crap ). But I'll say I've been using Mothers for a long time and have no complains against' it.. but will wait till the end of summer ( after this summer of trying Eagle one wax exclusively ) to see if it'* really worth it for me .

I used Turtle Wax, not bad but I'm sure theres better out there like Mother'*, I heard their one of the best. How many times to do it, in the mag. Auto Week they had an article in their to wax your car 2 times a month. To me that sounds too much.

I use meguiar'* cleaner wax and then follow it up with meguiar'* protectant wax. Also, I use mother'* chrome polish on the wheels. I wax about every 2 months or so. When i have time I use the cleaner stuff before the protector. I had to use it 3 weeks ago when i pulled my car outta the winter. Tomorrow I will be going back home and putting my bumper back on...I had it painted while I was at my school. Also, the chrome wheels will be going on. I can't wait to see how well it'* gonna look. I haven't seen my car look good in a long time.

It depends.

On the SSEi I am using up a tin of Turtle Wax Emerald Series Paste that I had left over from my truck. Good stuff but does not last long. After that is gone I am switching to Zymol Cleaner Wax. Makes my dads white Dakota look amazing. Can hurt on my White SSEi. So far I have waxed it twice since I bought it 5 weeks ago. Usually I do it four time a year, spring, twice in the summer and once in the fall for winter.

On my 89 Trans Am that is black I use the Griots 4 step hand wax kit. Step 1, cleanning clay. Step 2-Fine hand cleaner. Step3-Best of Show wax. Step 4-Speed Shine to remove any residue and guarantee a trophy. It gets all 4 steps in the spring and fall and in the summer it gets a few touchups with the best of show wax. Its black and I MUST have it shining like a Army Generals shoe.
