The part I cannot understand is the fact that the L36 has been in production for almost 10 years now, the upper intake manifold is VERY evident and very little has been done about it.
Baffling.
I always figured when you have a problem you do your best to fix it. Maybe I missed that memo :?

Remember the Upper intake was changed in 99 production, so all 00+ engines should be fine INTAKE wise. The gaskets may have other problems, that only show up since they aren't being replaced every 80k miles.

When I had my upper intake replaced, they tried telling me the same thing, replace the gasket only. I told them to take a closer look at the intake, then they saw what I was talking about.
