Trying to find the best price possible for a front 02 sensor for my 99. I know I need AC Delco.

I'm SOO confused, which of these (if any) is the right one?? None say anything about AC Delco, but they are listed for a 99 Bonne so I just don't know...

Rachel, I strongly suggest the 1st Denso one from autopartsdeal. com (their P/N NP234401. If you look closely at the ones listed on the first site (carpartswholesale), you will notice that they are a universal style O2 sensor with NO connectors!!. That means you would have to cut off your connectors and re-wire them to the new sensors. Not the best idea, IMO.

OK, so here'* the bottom line:

- DENSO all the way (good prices on that second site BTW!)

- Your Front O2 sensor is a 4-wire sensor

- Don't buy Bosch or universal style sensors.

So, it'* not hard? I know willwren said I could use a crescent wrench, but I have a whole tool kit and wrenches and sockets stuff, could it be done with that?

Based on all the discussion recently about Bosch automotive products, I've begun searching the forums about reliable plugs, wires, and O2 sensors.

No one has anything bad to say about the AC Delco sensors. Surprisingly, my local GM dealer gave me a 25 percent discount on my aluminum-framed LIM gaskets (I didn't argue or ask why, naturally -- maybe I was wearing my Kevin Harvick hat). So you never know sometimes who'* cheapest. Don't delay too long at the expense of your car'* performance.

Several members have been trying Denso. The verdict doesn't seem to be in yet, but I couldn't find any complaints. (I see Lash has some favorable comments about Denso, while I'm writing this)

Most Bosch users were unhappy. It seems their O2 sensors work well for about a month and then poop out. The 3800 engine is apparently too tough on most or maybe all Bosch products. I don't think there'* anything inherently wrong with the Bosch products (they work well in my motorcycles), but they should probably be avoided for our kind of cars.

There are members that really like their Bosch equipment, but they are in the definite minority.

Given the importance of the O2 sensor for good gas mileage and good emission control, pop for the best sensor members suggest. Any dollars extra will soon be made up. And you may pay less than you think.

You can use a crescent wrench or a standard wrench if you wish. It is a bit of a knuckle buster, but it'* somewhat easier if you try and remove the old sensor when it'* warm. That means while the engine is still warm, NOT hot! There'* no reason to burn yourself while working on a hot engine, lol.

Personally, I like to spray the base of the existing sensor the previous night with PB Blaster to help with the removal, but it'* not absolutely necessary.
