I see these two paragraphs posted all over the Internet, which appear to be Bosch'* take on the matter:
For what it'* worth, I believe GM calls for iridium plugs in the L36. Many members (including myself) have no problem with coppers. Seems to have something to do with platinum itself.

A 3800 will not like them. I've tried it, many people have tried it, and its a bad idea. Save yourself the work and trip to the store and just get a good set of ACDelco, Champion, or Autolite plugs.

They are set a .50 and Not to be regapped.
And as far as Denso being a AC vendor, I highly doubt GM would use Jap plugs. And certainly not admit to it. I hear the gamut of guesses as to who make what AC Delco Plug. And not once have I seen a credible source. AC isn't talking.
