Angry Son of East Coast Snowstorm

Well, we finally got the blizzard we were promised last week.

Today, I started off the day by going down a hill at about five miles an hour. Pressed on the brakes, anti-lock kicked back, and both feet on the pedal, I proceeded to slide down the hill and through the normally-busy intersection. Fortunately, no cars were coming, so I didn't get T-boned; however, I did reach the bottom, fishtail, and then slide across the street sideways to stop dead in a snowbank. (I'm sure the fine folks at Marathon Pizza are glad for that snowbank.)

I spent an hour driving to Ridgefield in the morning, and then four hours driving back in the afternoon — I didn't want to take back roads, so I had to cut through New York; then, I-84 was jammed for twenty miles (Newtown to Cheshire), so I cut onto Route 6, to find it barely plowed all the way through Thomaston… what a nightmare.

How did everyone else out here "enjoy" the real snowstorm?

Yes.

And Bill, I'm not new. The term "blizzard" is subjective to how much of a pain in the rear bumper the storm is.

Not to rub it in, but I spent Tuesday pressure washing a fire hydrant. Sun came out enough to dry everything off and then I was able to paint it today. I am thankful the snow stayed on the East Side. Does not sound like any fun.
