Default Something'* broken and I don't know what it is.

Ok, my bro had been complaining of a grinding everytime he used his brakes, and excessive pedal travel etc, so I checked his brake pads and there aren't any! He'* on bare metal to metal. anyway, that isn' tthe question, just the story of how I found another problem. anyway, there is a broken bar of some sort, looks like it might be some kind of stabalizer bar? There are 3 things going to the wheel, the drive shaft, tie rod (the one that goes to the PS rack.) Then a 3rd very large one, and that is the one that is snapped in half. What is this for? he had been saying that he has a sort of shimmy/popping noise in the front end when you hit bumps, so I'm assuming this broken bar is causing this? Any help would be appreciated since I have NO idea what this even is.

You talking about your Brother'* 92? I need to know what model. I think you're talking about the Stabilizer bar, but they're different depending on suspension options/models.

I have them listed for standard suspension, solid, tubular, and sport suspension. You may just want to upgrade to sport if you don't already have it. Should bolt right up, with only a bushing change necessary. Let me know, and I'll give you a part number.

Is the bar straight until it gets to within a few inches of the hub, then does a little bend and a curve down to the hub?

yup, that'* what it was, the stabalizer bar. We just to autozone and bought a new one. The bar itself wasn't actually broken like my above post made it sound, the knuckle/ joint on it broke. It was on the 92 SE.

Anybody know if the stabalizer bars from a bonny might fit on my car? It'd prolly make it handle a little better..

Not sure about the stabilizer bar, but the Strut bar will fit, and it'll help alot. A couple guys have done it already.

in Custom88'* defense, I live in his general vicinety and there aren't many H-bodies in our salvage yards. :( or maybe depending on how you look at it. Most cars that go into our salvage yards are so rusty that they wind up in the crusher. Those that aren't that bad are parted out at a premium.
