Ok... so i went to the junkyard today. Walked around, but didn't fina a whole lot that others had asked for. but i did get some stuff for myself.

Got 2 rear vent visors, and a set of 96-99 tail lights


I also picked up a couple other parts.


I also decided to pick up the trunklid and spoiler (see below)


And this is what can happen when rust starts to win.


And now for some interesting things that i found out that I am not sure if was known. First, for those with sunvisor issues: There were a bunch of SE'* that came with the dual visors. Also, with the exception of the main visor, the buick lesabre and olds 88 had the same visors and the parts are interchangeable. The Lesabre visors do not have a pocket, but do have the little part that slides out to cover the center of the window. Forgot to get pictures.

Second, the reason I got the trunk lid. It was only $35.00. And while I was there, I did a little research. Pictures first, then explaination.









Ok... I decided to do some research since I had access to the 92-95 and 96-99 and some time on my hands. I remembered that someone had placed the tail light from a 96+ in a 92-95 and it fit (there is a picture somewhere) so after looking to see if the trunk areas were the same, I removed the trunk from the 97 SE. What fun that was. i then took it over to the other car, a 95 SE, and removed that trunk. After looking at both lids, I realized I had to remove the 95 tail lights as well. Once everything was removed, I took the 97 trunk and slide it onto the 95. It fit over them fine. I then lined up the top holes and put a screw in each. As you can see, the bottom one does not line up. There is about a 1/2" difference, with the97 trunk being closer together. So inorder to get it to fit, a new hole in the trunk lid will have to be drilled, ot a new hole tapped in the hinge.
Well, as i was about to walk out, Ithough, what about the hinges? So I took some pictures of the hinges, but haven't looked at them close enough, but from my brief visual inspection, it looks like the hinges could just be replaced. Although for that, you need something to remove a square nut on the back of each. If i get time this weekend, there is a 96 in the junkyard in Rochester that i will try removing the hinges and see if they fit in a 92-95.

it has always been said the the decklid from the 96-99 would bolt up...now it is confirmed..

Yeah i was thinking of doing a 96-99 taillight swap. Still not sure if i'm gonna. That would look pretty cool on your 93. If i saw it i would be like w-t-f????

Inorder to do the swap, you would need all three lenses, and the trunklid. I would also recommend the hinges (assuming they work) as then you don't have to modify anything. The 96+ outer lights fit in the same homes as the 92-95, which was proven before. As for the center light, I put it against the 95 trunk and the bolts are outside the trunk for that one. The 96+ trunk has more sheetmetal there, but the sameopening where it meed the weatherstripping. Also, the lines on the trunk and quarter panels lines up perfectly.

I am considering this (hence the purchase of all the parts) but probably not until I get the new rear bumper so I can have everything painted at once. Don't really feel like running around with a cranberry trunklid on a white car. I still might, but not sure. Probably will sell the tail lights though as I need some money to pay things off. Also looking for a 92-95 white (16U) trunklid with or without a spoiler. If it is without, there should be no holes in it. I would have gotten a 40U trunk and spoiler today (for $35) but the trunk was closed and the keyes were no where to be found. Back seat was out and I looked and the trunk was broken on the inside where the latch attached from someone prying it.

As for finding a green 92-95 SSE rear bumper, Lakeville, you are second in line behind Randy.

Geoff, you didnt happen to see any blue tinted mirrors by anychance??

Jimmy...... did any of the cars have a dark grey interior... and if so.... did any of them have that little "round trinangle" piece that goes in the center console right behind the SSEi seat control buttons and right infront of the latch for the arm rest?

Also.... any 96-99 head lights that were in really good condition?

PS-Don't suppose they had any 87-91 SSEs?

that is one piece with the seat control panel

Merlin... That piece is part of the seat switches plastic. It'* all one molded piece. No way to seperate..
