Should I buy a 2000 SSEi?

Ok, so heres the deal. I was car shopping for a 2006 saab 9-3. I've been to 15 different dealers and found nothing good. Then today I decided to stop by a local dealer that used to be a Pontiac dealer that turned into a kia dealer. While browsing the lot I found a 2000 SSEi tucked away in the back, apparently its been there sitting for a couple of months. I popped the hood and looked around, had the saleman let me road test it and took it to the shop and had it checked out, heres what i found: Front motor mount is shot, never been undercoated so the lines are rusted, rear calipers are almost completely seized, one tranny cooler line is leaking, rocker covers are leaking, moulding on sunroof is ripped, hood has been repainted on top only (still has herpes underneath), front upper strut bearings noisy.

its got 95,000 kms on it, and apparently only one owner. The tranny is shot on my 94 and the kid in me telling me to buy it and go nuts with it, but the older me is saying that a 10 year old car isn't the best investment. So i'm on the fence about it. Price is $6,500 canadian on the road.

alot of people are saying that its a bad idea, but they're not certified bonneville nuts. so I came here for advice.

heres a couple of pics of it, you can see old red parked next to it.

So....if you can do the mechanical work yourself, price out the parts that you'll need to make the repairs and add that to the cost of the car. Of if you can't do the work, get an estimate from a mechanic. That's the true cost of buying the car. When you look at it that way, you'll probably find that the cost is a bit much for what you are getting.

6500 is probably about what it is worth. Tell them you cant pay more than 5800.
