Well, I did it...buried the needle. 140 mph or 220 kph at 4400 RPM. Never felt a car as smooth as this one at such high rate of speed. Once 180 kph, I said "what the hey" and kept depressing on the accelerator.

Very nice...it was fun, passed about 2 or 3 cars..not sure...hehehe, but it was fun.

Thought I would share

But the thing thats weird, at 4400 RPM that car has WAY more to go...I wonder...hmmm, the hwy system is to dangerous to get going at 220 kph...I would LOVE to know how fast this V8 monster can really go

I would just love to live in an area where I could get away with stuff like that. The Twin Cities has the highest concentration of police per capita in the state (I wonder why?)

Problem is, around here, almost all they highways have service roads. At 3 AM, a set of headlights doing 100MPH would be real obvious to a cop on the service road.

When I bought my Acura Legend about 5 or 6 years ago, I accidentally got it up to 120+. When for a cruise the day I got it, and didn't realise what a smooth ride they had. Looked at the speeo and just about freaked!!

Those Legends are zippy cars

The smoothness is so deceiving. Its odd, all GM cars shake at 140 kph or 85 mph, then smooth out. I gave the Bonneville a 110mph run and she was almost redlining. Now in this car...almost 30 mph faster...and I was just barely brushing 4500 RPM...DOHC for ya

Hmmm, must just me...I have taken or been in a quite a few GM cars, even my uncle that works for GM calls it the GM Shake....its a very minor vibration...then I give it a bit more love and its smooth like glass...

At any rate I wont be doing 140mph for some time now...I like my license

I'll retire after that. I was wondering when is a good time to open up the Maxima. I can't do it on my own. Someone has to tempt me to run the car hard like that now. Before I couuld just go and don't look back. I want a challenge now.

You'd be suprised Steve, its relevately low RPM, going that fast I found was not hard on the car at all....

Your limiter on your moms Max is 145 right?

i keep the bonnie below 80mph, even though it'* rock-solid at that speed. however, i got the mustang to an estimated 165mph(speedo only reads 150mph), using a whole bottle of nitrous in the process, and i think she had a mph or two left in her. once the spray ran out, it put on the brakes.
