Info Request
Hey, I found this site while I was looking at Bonnevilles to buy. Im not sure what years are covered on this board so let me know. I was wondering if any of the owners of 1993 Bonneviilles or the surrounding Generations would have any insight for me. I am currently interested in buying a 1993 Bonnevile SE from a dealer. Has 60K for $3grand. Hows the price on that also any Pros or Cons to the car I should check out? I normally have had Fbodys or Montes. Thanks for all the info you can give me and hope to make this a new home for me. Great looking site and Thanks AGAIN!!

93 SE with 60K???? for 3K? Sounds like a steal if it'* good condition. That'* a Series 1, so it doesn't have the cracking upper intake problem. It'* a 93, so it'* got an EGR valve (good thing), and it'* the last year you can extract the PCM codes by shorting out contacts on the ALDL connector, then reading the flashes on the SES light. That L27 is a strong torquer. I think you'll be happy with it.
Sounds like you know your cars. Go over the basics, as this car has no serious historical issues.
(btw....this board covers ALL years from 57 up.....but we specialize in 87-current).

Well I went to look at 2 cars today, a 93 and a 96 both with around 60k. Both were beat up pretty bad condition and the 96 had what seemed like valve tapping plus the oil was as thick a Hersheys syrup. Too good to be true. Still looking for one though they are nice cars when they are took care of. Thanks for the info and anyone knows of one close to 08817 let me know!!

That thick oil is probally gear oil, you can use it in an engine so it has good pressure readings, and that would be the probable cause of the valve knocking..stay away from that one unless you have alot of money, and want to rebuild an engine! lol

I found a few in your area at www.autotrader.com
Kinda pricey, but the last couple of pages in my search (within 50 miles of your zip) has a few deals.
