I need to get inside hte instrument cluster so I can put the needle back on. I can actually tell how fast I am going by using the rpms but its better with speedo.

Wait a min...the needle fell off?

How did that happen? What about your HUD?

No HUD in my car. It fell off while speeding. I think I was going to fast.

I replaced the whole gauge cluster in my STE a week or so ago, and if it is anything like that it should be pretty simple. My dash pad came off by just removing 2 screws and then pulling up to get all of the clips out. Then there was access right to the gauge cluster. It unbolted with 4 bolts. Then there was one plug on the left side of it where it gets its info from. If yours is anything like that, you can pull it out and then the plastic cover comes off with a couple torx screws (at least the one for my STE does). So once you take that off you should be able to get the needle back on, then put together in reverse order.

go for it Steve, it'* not that bad. I don't get it, though. I've had my needle buried more than once, and it never fell off. It screams in pain alot, but never comes off.
