Default Aurora Problems

hey guys hows it goin, i have a 97 Aurora, awesome car, but some problems, when i hit the brakes in park, i get a tiny normal volt drop, but when i put it in drive with the brakes on, i get a drop from like 14.9-15.0 (on the dic) to like 13.8-14, interior lights and dash dim out quite a bit, im thinking it would be the Brake Interlock Switch or whatever its called, what about you guys?

Check your ground points, sounds like a ground is corroded.

few people did tell me that, i added a ground from the coil packs to the strut tower, and did ground to bare metal, same with the battery ground, this was done a few weeks ago

what other grounds are there to check?

Not as familiar with your brand, but there should be a ground on the rear of the engine for gauges. There should also be a ground in the trunk area, this is the one I would check first seeing how it'* the brake lights are what'* causing the problems.

On a weak electrical system, the brake lights put a good load amount on the system. This same thing happens in my black car when I'm running the AC/DC converter. I would make sure that there is a good ground between the engine block and the battery/chassis and that the red wires from the alternator are in good shape.

you know, i was going to try to find the grounds for the tail lights, i thought the Bonne was on the same platform as mine, but that was the Riviera, darn

i looked up the grounds for the tail lights, i found out what numbers etc they are, just gotta find out exactly where they are at

and to Jon, the battery chassis is better then factory right now, since i fixed it, the alternator actually was replaced a few weeks ago
