Scanners
I was thinking about getting me a OBD-1 scanner. Is this the correct one for series I motors? How much is it?

you should get a whole kit with the obd-1, 2 and the ford/mopar and import
for about 300 brand is AUTO X-RAY OBD-1 is 93 n older OBD-2 is 94 n up I think |
Actually, you'll need a different cable for the 94 and up. Depends on what you want it for. If you want it just for your current car, a 12-pin OBD1 reader like my Actron will save you a bit of money. You can pick them up for about 100 bucks with the GM cartridge.

On the topic of scanners....
Can anyone recommend a good scanner/reader that would work on my 91 & my 97? I know the pin outs and such are completely different, but I was wondering if that could be fixed by just buying an attachment, or if you had to buy two different scanners? |
