Channel plate bud. Frequently referred to as a case cover. Technically it'* a channel plate. The valve body is the part on top of it with all the soleniods. The pump is the piece with all the vanes on top of the valve body.

Steve was a real trooper on the whole 3 day process. Didn't even flinch at the guy in the neon asking me to light them when we were at a light.

Got about 5-10 feet of running room and we lost speed in a cloud of smoke ...lol

He was trying to get me in trouble when we were at the DUI checkpoint getting looked at about why the window sticker wasn't current. Favorite word is "Bacon bacon bacon" I think Gunner has a built in Bacon detector...

Having to also drop my trans to get the side plate off to replace solenoids,do you have to remove the right side(passenger) axle?
Thanks again for all the information that this board has to offer. It has been a tremendous help.

If all your going to do is lower the drivers side, which I understand can be done, although I have not tried it. Then you only need to remove the left axle.

Great,My 95 SSEi doesn't have the room to just pull the cover aside and replace solenoids. Dropping the tranny is the olny way. I found it odd that Orielly auto parts, here in NC anyway, wanted $20.99 for one shift solenoid and $29.99 for the other? The Chevy dealer brought up a diagram and it shows both being the same part number? I'll go with Chevy dealer, plus olny $16.something ea.
Thanks, not looking foreward to crawling back under the car,but it'* saving me $$.

Make sure you change your EPC when you have the transmission out.
