Did My First Oil Change Today
Since my change was due I decided to go on my own.. Well actually a friend helped me since he had the tools. Bought Mobil 1 Extended Performance (5 qts) and a Mobil 1 oil filter. There was a deal to get all that for $30. (savings of $7-10).
It was actually alot easier that I thought. Feels good to do my own work. And my friend helped so I didn't screw up. (like lubing that seal on the filter).
Now I feel I could tackle changing the tranny lines...

Glad to hear you gave it a try.
All of you do know that everything on a car is easy as long as you turn a wrench or screwdriver and are willing to try. Sure some things require using instructions and might get sent out to a machine shop because we don't own that level of tools... overall an engine is nothing more than a bunch of nuts and bolts holding parts together.

And yes, these girls were very appreciative I changed their oil. But one hadn't had it changed in 10,000 miles so I couldn't NOT do it. I actually TAUGHT one of them how to do it because she wanted to learn (and her boyfriend wouldn't show her). :P
