Default Rim question...plz help

i know i will probably get bashed for this and be told the typical "you lose performance after 17 or 18 inches" but her goes anyway, i am thinking of getting a set of 20 inch wheels for my 92 bonneville and i know those will fit. i probably wouldnt get some but a friend of mine mentioned puttin 22s on and im wondering if thats even at all possible to fit, and if they fit will the turns be affected and wil it rub? thanks in advance!

That size is seriously going to mess up your rolling diameter, the tranny gearing will not be the same, the speedo will read wrong.

Make sure the depth of the rim has a tire that can fit it, modding the tire well or something is in order and make sure the offsets are ok..

20" rims, geez, those are more expensive then the car bud

Yea, it is going to drive and feel like a small truck. 20'*, your going to need upgraded brake setup most likely, or youll just eat up through those rotors and pads every few months. I went from 15 to 17'* and I needed a upgraded brake pad, but the rotors were still ok, the drums in the back were also ok.

yes, i realize the cost of the wheels vs the cost of my car...lol. well to most they would be but to me, well i have pretty good connections, and everything is legit so dont get the wrong ideas. my friend that said to put 22s on, has 24s on 72 olds cutlass. so...do u think theres a chance of them even goin into the wheel wells, just so i can take a pic? lol...i just want to see how outrageous it would look

I have a couple of friends that work in the tire & rim business
and we talk about wheels & cars all the time. And from what I hear,
you would not be able to get 22' rims to fit your car without mods. 20'
is not a problem for your 92 but like Jim said it can really hurt your car.

i was thinking...if my stock wheels and tires together measure out to about 26-27 and i went 22s and the lowest profile tires available, still no go? well 20s it is then, maybe stick the 22s in there just for a picture or 2

You get a tire that skinny and your rims are gone on the first pothole...
