Default Planning on changing LIM gaskets

As the title says.

Got some pretty dex cool seeping down the side of the head, coming from the intake gaskets.

Before taking a 5 hour trip each way to Rochester this needs to get done. I plan on taking a day and saving some money. And learning a lot about my car.

The car is my 97 SSEi with the L67 motor. I plan to document and take pictures. Getting my list of parts finalized and it includes:
Gasket set for intake, lower and SC base
TB gasket (nothing like a clean intake) and TB cleaner
Extra cans of brake cleaner (the bomb for cleaning gasket surfaces)
Coolant elbow and O rings
Coolant
Already have copper atv (permatex'* high temp use for everything gold standard)
Other half of manual (note to self to steal from Randy)

Does anyone need pics of anything in particular?
Have a trick on doing something? Like Jr'* tip on to coolant elbow.

2 coolant o-rings for between the LIM and SC on the TB end (they sit in pockets in the LIM).

Use hi-temp rtv automotive sealant in the 'corners' where the LIM, heads, and block meet. Both UNDER and ON TOP of the ends of the LIM to block seals. This is where the 'tips' erode over time.

Do the O-rings on the injectors, too. You'll have them out, so what the hell. In fact, send them out to Oregon for cleaning and drive the 95 for a week.

For that I'll pick up a bunch and get them matched up. But really good idea!

Hey, Bill, drive out to Phoenix and I'll give you a hand

Just make sure to take plenty of pics, so the rest of us SII guys have something to refer to when it happens to us! (at least until Bill1 and/or Don move out of the stone age and get a 96-99!)

The set I just installed (FelPro) in my 93 last month actually came with instructions that said to use that sealant on the ends. It shows a diagram of how to do it, and came with a small tube.

Here'* the only gasket maker I ever pick up. Permatex Ultra Gold. Buy one tube and use on anything.

http://www.permatex.com/auto/autouh....&item_no=81878

All good ideas..

Bill I've almost always found a tube of goop in the box w/GM intake gaskets. Corners are important.
