Default what the hell.

I took my car through a wash today, nothing different, I always get the Premium wash at amoco, (buddy works there so i sometimes get free washes)

and I went to pull out, engine was quirky, so when I pulled out onto the road, the engine started misfiring, and the hood was moving all over the place (up and down..the hood stops are screwed up..) and I pull into a parking lot, pop the hood, and there'* smoke coming from all over down under the hood.. So I don't know what that indicates, but I do know my moms/brothers old lumina did it, too sometimes after washes..

I just let it idle for 10 minutes in my driveway before I left to go to work

What might be causing this?

probably a bad spark plug wire or coil pack, when it gets wet its causing a mis-fire

are you sure it was smoke coming from under the hood, and not steam?

if the hood stops are messed up, some water proabably got in there and all over the hot parts.

Defenitly sounds like a plug wire. Check the #6 wire. It seems to be the first to go.

Sound advice. The #6 wire is exposed to more heat than any other wire because the heat from 1, 3, and 5 come around from the front and cook it.

Try moving your wires around at cold idle. And give it time to dry out.
