Default wheel well paint peeling

has anyone else ever had this problem? this is the back of the driver side rear.

this is the back of the passenger side rear

the paint is peeling off the flexible plastic body cladding. Is there any special type of paint and/or primer that I need to use to repair this?

As it is inside the wheel well, Krylon makes a paint specially formulated to stick to plastic. Been seeing the ads on TV lately, just in time for my engine cover paint job.

I haven't seen the ads, but I went to the Krylon web site, and found this, is this it?

Yep, that looks like the right stuff. The ads specifically mention it being made specifically for plastic. I haven't checked for prices yet though.

I watch a lot of the home improvement shows, so maybe that'* why I've seen the ads so much.

Krylon Fusion is the bomb.... Me and my friend did his whole interior black and red with the fusion. Stuff is awesome-doesnt chip scratch or anything easily. I highly recomend the use of this paint on plastics.

Default paint

from the looks of it in your picture.............it looks like it was repainted at one time and was not prepped properly. that would be my guess as to the cause. krylon paint should work but.....color match could be a problem ,but not to critical in that area.

I was going to say that too. It was definitely repainted at one time, but it was done very poorly. But it'* better than my rust though. :?

Hrm... I had my car repainted a few months ago, and I've noticed that around my skirt there are some parts where it'* peeling and even some chips taken out of it.

Where can you buy this Krylon Fusion stuff? A place like Canadian Tire or do you have to order it online?

When applying it, I guess you'll have to take off all the old paint first, and paint the bare plastic eh?

I used that on my PVC Drain ends for my ram air setup. It'* the best spray paint ever, it works on any surface, not just plastic. Goes on perfect, and drys VERY fast.

Thought of any mudflaps/splash guards? I'm gonna be buying some soon, i found some with the pontiac lettering on them if you're interested.[/list]
