I raced a 1.8T Jetta a couple weeks ago, he got me when his turbo spooled up. It's easy to chip those cars and get 200+ hp though.

I had the pleasure to measure up against a new Jetta VR6 (auto) w/ intake, exhaust and chip. We make a few runs on the freeway from 70mph up to 105mph (basically to my speed limiter) and depending on who had the move (when he accelearted first) he only put 1/2 a car on me. When I had the move I put 1 car on him until the speed limiter that's when he passes me. Got to talk to the guy at a gas station, cool guy, nice car (silver) w/ body kit tinted windows, rims, slotted rotors w/ Porsche brakes (I belive 4 piston). It's nice to know that w/ my small mods I can take on a VR6. Have fun kiddies w/ those VR6's in the world.
------------------------------ Another race earlier was against a BMW 3 series. It was from a stop and he got the move, I put 1 car on him until we hit 55 mph. Lesson learned, never race with full gas tank. _________________ 1999 Bonneville SE Mods: 3" Custom Catback Exhaust, Custom 3" Intake, MAF Screen Removed, Thrasher Shift Kit (highest setting ) [ This Message was edited by: 99BonnevilleSE on 2002-03-03 17:32 ] |
