Pulley lube for a squeaky pulley?

I have a really squeaky pulley when it rains (only when it rains)...what's the best lubricant to get rid of the squeak? It's very annoying.

Thanks!

Everything except WD-40. The common misconception is that WD is a lubricant. It's not. It's a solvent that dissipates and evaporates very quickly. WD stands for Water Displacing. That's what it was invented for. Use it on electrical connectors, never as a lubricant.

Okay...thanks :)

Are there any specific lubricant's you'd recommend?

The reason I ask is becuase there's somebody looking at my car tomorrow and its supposed to rain all day - don't want it squeaking with a potential buyer around.

The odds of you being able to get a lubricant into the bearing if that's what's squeaking are slim. They're sealed. However, if it's squeaking on the shaft, just a few drops of engine oil from your dipstick will do just fine. ;)

Well I was given some sort of lube in a non marked bottle by my boss once...it stopped the squeak for like an hour, but then it came back even louder then it was before. Hopefully this wont happen to me...that'd really suck to have it squeaking in front of a potential buyer.

If it's an idler, the replacement is about 20 bucks at NAPA.
