Promotional Business Card Etiquette

Am I supposed to leave one on every Bonnahvulle I see or should I be selective and only give them to strangers in person

driverjohn2005 01-27-2006 02:44 AM

All up to you buddy ;)

MOS95B 01-27-2006 07:44 AM

Please consider the weather if you're gonna leave on on a car. I hate coming out to my car when it's rained to find a flyer or business card stuck to it.

willwren 01-27-2006 08:40 AM

How about many more than 4?

Wanna keep 'em less wet this time of year (btw, these new cards are pretty weather resistant, and if you're worried about the weather, laminate them like I do).

Put the card between the glass and housing of the driver's left mirror. They'll see it, and the water from the windshield won't get it wet as it runs down.

Also, if they get in without seeing it, and THEN see it, they don't have to get out. They can roll the window down and grab it.

The ones I've handed out I carefully tucked into the driver's side window. Something about the way our windows are shaped, theres a bit of a natural gap there.

What can I say? I'm a trendsetter....

I just got mine in the mail Wednesday, and they look great BTW!

My question:
That space for the user name...Is that for them to use when/if they join? Or for our user name, so they have a "friend" here when/if they join. I thought the latter.

willwren 01-27-2006 09:19 AM

Your username. Correct sir. That way it's more personal than Spam. Not just some random person dumping a flyer or card on a car. There's a hint of personality and reality behind it. And they can thank/curse you for it when they join.

lash 01-27-2006 09:24 AM

That's what I thought.

smellbird 01-27-2006 09:37 AM

I try to be selective of which cars I place them on. Obviously if the car is beat to hell and falling apart the owner doesnt exhibit much interest in their vehicle.

This works against me because of my chicken scratch penmanship.

Get a type writer...

Or experiment with a few putting them through your printer ;)

If you have a girlfriend....just ask her...women usually have nice writing. Or hit up a friend that took a drafting class...

I don't have any cards, but I left a note on a woman's car about a week ago. I was sitting in my car when she came out, and we talked about her car for about 30mins. I now know she is my cousin and a teacher at my school. She still hasn't joined.

i havent run into one worthy of the card yet... i usually see the nice ones on my commute, and no time to promote while doing 80mph in the breakdown lane

harofreak00 01-27-2006 12:45 PM

I meet bonnies on the road all of the time. Never any at the parking lots though. Ticks me off. And since I've gotten the cards....I see them on the road ALL THE TIME...teasing me....never parked though....

Are you going to be at SEBF tomorrow? If so, I have some you can have. Share the wealth, so to speak... ;)
