BTW: The 4.6L NorthStar is a FWD V8 Engine! It can found in the Cadilac Seville STS! It is also a base 300HP Engine stock.

Why not save yourself the huge Pain In The Ass, and just get a STS ?? :D

cuz it would be bad ass to have a V8 bonnie. nothing against the STS but i would drop a V8 in my bonnie if i had the money. gives you more bragging rights.

Your one to talk! Besides I'm talking about a Bonneville SE that can beat ANYTHING on the street. Any engine swap is going to be a huge pain in the ass anyhow.

My reason is I like the lumpy cam and v8 torque. Its not a big deal when you do the cost breakdown and the cost on my site for a 5.0 v8 includes instillation so there is no pain other than the 9600.00 After that you have a v8 with a turbo 400hp should be no problem I can also have it bored a bit more but not too much more. I will have a kit for the 4.6l asap. I still have no cost on that yet. Basically you could get 370hp out of a sc v6 with the aid of thrasher very easily. I believe this is a good rout but the price difference is slight. Now if you don’t have smog issues then a 4.6l is an awesome choice because of the 700hp made without much work at all. If you use a older 92-95 Bonneville you could drop a crazy hp engine in and not worry too much about computer issues, but with the caddy you will find there are some serious problems or the guy "somewhere in the Midwest" working on a caddy right now would not be banging his head on how he is gonna make it work. There is no current solution on the caddy computer so it’s still not the greatest choice. That said one day it will work. I love the caddy.

time for engine mods

Jstpsntym: Now couldn't be a better time for you to install an aftermarket cam and headers. Now is the perfect time to do LOTS of engine mods.

I know I would if I had a L67 sitting on blocks.

DEFINETELY!!!! Skza I couldnt of said it any better myself, you read my mind. Jay, do you have any idea how absolutely easy it would be for you to do headers right now compared to with the motor in the car?? Yer talking like 20 minutes compared to 4 hours. The body shop sounds pretty cool and they would prolly even let you do it right there, maybe even let you borrow some tools!! :D

Lee is right though, now is a great time to do a cam as well, but I'm not sure what your current budget is. At least do the headers though, and the cam if you got the dough. Man, if I had your motor sitting there like that, where you knoew it was going to be a few weeks before the car was done anyways, I'd be going nuts on that engine. Its not like its tying up the car or anything by you working on the motor :D

Now is the time baby!! 3.4" Pulley (if you havent done that yet), headers, cam, cat-back exhaust, and when you start that thing up and drive it again it will be a COMPLETELY different car.

Do it up!!

Yea, I was thinking of a lot of those things when I saw the motor lying on the floor. Moneywise, I just couldn't do anything major right now. Plus, its actually too late :D :D :D

I stopped by Saturday and they had just finished putting the fenders on and rolled it out for a test drive. I took it down the road at about 30 and it was completely straight. There was no wobble, shimmy or pull. Not bad, considering it hasn't been aligned yet!

Looks a lot better than the last time huh?

Anyways, looking at the bare A/C condenser I did get to thinking about adding a tranny cooler. The shop owner said that now was the best time, since everything is wide open. I went ahead and bought one, so they will add it during final assembly.

All the rest of the parts came in today, so I should get it back Thursday. Man, do I miss driving it!

Jay
