Another 4T60something bites the dust. It'* (seemingly) the end of my 3800 era as I put my Grand Prix on Craigslist.

I went into a dealership eyeing a beautiful and reasonably-priced 2002 Firebird (with our friend the 3800 under the hood), but it was still being serviced, so I couldn't even test-drive it. But I did end up driving a 2007 Pontiac G5 (automatic) and really liking it enough to have them hold it for me.

While I wait for them to shine it up, change the fluids, and figure out how to choke me with financing, what do you guys think of the G-series? From what I read, it was a very solid car, but not enough of a game-changer to keep Pontiac off the chopping block.

I think it was a badged cobalt. Nothing stands out that i know of, but then again, i don't know much about them either.

For some reason, they always remind me of the 2nd Gen Neons. Something about how the front end sits low to the ground and the rear end sits higher. Just like the Neons.

But, I'd wait it out for that Firebird to come out of the shop.

wouldnt buy anything smaller than a w-body. firebirds are nice if you dont drive in snow.

i had a 02 neon es(sxt) they were much nicer than the gm small cars, more power, better ride, better features and less money. there is no reason to get a small car though unless you drive in the city, that neon and all the other ones the mileage goes down the faster you go over 55 surprisingly fast. it would get like 33 at 55, 31 at 65, and down from there, where my monte is 34 at 55, and stays about that till 70 or so. 3400 or 3500 montes or impalas are good commuters and good in the snow

steel blue pearl, 5 speed, good little car. the reason i got rid of it was it didnt get that good highway mileage and the sport seats are not made for someone with a butt width like mine. it would hurt after a couple hours and at the time i was driving 3-500 mile trips each way twice a week. the w-bodies have much nicer seats and hwy mileage and range. and truck space, on the neon i went with a single 10 in a truck box so i could get my tools and luggage in it. on my monte i have two full air volume sealed boxes and could fit all my crap in it too

Yep, $4200 from the insurance company buffed that little blue thing right out. Used it to buy a Blazer. Another mistake.
