new main seal, since the old one was worn, the ends on the crank were worn down, so were the journals for the bearings, so he got it sleeved, and the new conecting rods aren't too expensive he said .. he said this engine will last a long time if i keep up on it and don't beat on it too much

he also said i'm not paying labor, and it'* only for paying for the parts, basically

that and instead of installing plug wires after he puts the engine in, i got permission from him to come up and install them while it'* on the stand still out of the car.. wonder if i can clean it too

That car should run nice after that.

It'* better to put wires on once the motor is in the car. In case something gets too close when lowering it in. Also there are certain wiring harness that should be routed under the wires.

Didn't take a crap.. I had a nasty leak from the main seal and there was a spun bearing which was the clicking i had a few weeks back for 5 min then i shut the car off and restarted it and it was fine.. the new seal is in, sleeved crank in, and rods to match new bearings are in also .. basically a lower engine rebuild i guess.. no, i straightened the problem with the UIM though

I've got alldata printouts from school that I'm taking with me tomorrow night after school regarding spark plugs, engine removal/reinstall, and anything else i'd need to know, ie, torque specs for different bolts and fasteners that i'd need to re-tighten, and all that jazz

Alldata will probably tell you it can be done at either time. And I'm only saying. When putting a motor into a car. If you don't have it positioned pretty well..you can rub/bump stuff. That could clip/hurt a wire. Why take the chance.

Although.. Ask Randy and AJ..if I'm lowering it in.. you'd be fine. .. I've got talent..

I'm just gonna scotch tape the wires close to the block, if not , on the block so they don't rub on the way in, then before he tightens up all the mounts, I'm gonna just peel off the tape, and it should be fine

Is he lowering the motor in or lowering the car over the subframe?

Either way..movement can occur. If working alone and he pushes a hoist with a motor dangling..it will rock a little.

Go for it. The worst that could happen is you'll be picking up a second set of $40 plug wires.
