Default My night with DynoBrian(PCM frustration...)

Got together tonight with Dyno Brian, the newest member and longtime friend of the INTENSE crew. I was hoping to get my PCM flashed before heading to the track in the morning, but I started my day in New Jersey, so business hours were out of the picture. Brian sacrificed a big chunk of his night to meet me at the INTENSE shop and do the work of reflashing the PCM, which should have taken about half an hour, with the security learn. Unfortunately, it seems there was a glitch somewhere, probably in HPTuners stock torque management tables(which is what Scott uses as a base for his own programming), so when we started the car, it ran OK for a minute then started idling rough and wouldn't let us apply throttle at all. When we logged a few minutes on the tuner, it showed zero timing and serious lean condition.
We ended up reflashing back to stock, including another security learn(apparently my car wasn't playing nice) and called it a night (well after midnight). I'll run it tomorrow with the stock PCM, and drop it off with INTENSE on Monday so Scott can take a look at the specs in a stock running PCM, instead of the ones HPTuners supplies. Just one of the risks with being a guinea pig(Big Bad is the first PA that INTENSE has ever programmed, so it'* not unexpected that something unexpected happened ). I have no doubt that they will find the problem in short order and complete the PCM in time for me to get another track day before the tracks close for the winter.

In the end, though, even if the night was unproductive because of a glitch, it'* yet another testament to the level of customer service at INTENSE, and an even deeper statement of the dedication that Brian brings to his position with the company.
Like I told him, his tab is covered at the next GOClubGP meet I make.

(We ended up spending the time during the security learns debating the merits of Fords, F-body guys, diesel pick-ups, and why each of us got sick of Ford or GM, respectively...)
