The price you quoted is the asking price by the dealer right?

Dealer asking price is considered the "Sucker" price, the high miles is a good bargin chip to play. Dealer(major line) don't like to have hi-milers around, make the lot look to cheap. If customers see to many high mile rigs on the lot, they think the dealer is selling crap.
Should be good for another $K or even $1500 off.
Remember the dealer is in the business of SELLING cars..not collecting them, he doesn't make any money if that car sits there.

As far as miles on a Pontiac...Low end stuff (Sunbird, LeMans etc) Maybe, just maybe it would have to be really really cheap

Grand Am'*, ****** and Bonnies...no problem, assuming it passes a good look over. A Bonnie doesn't even get broke in good till 100K

I guess I should go back a little. Ifirst saw this
car the first week of November at that time they wanted
$12.900, saw it advertised a week later on Autotrader.com
for $10.900. I have been eyeballing it ever since. I
believe that it'* now or never.

I agree about the now or never because if it stays around any longer, they'll just send it to the auction.
Since GM still hasn't fixed the manifold problem and it is only a matter of if, not when, they start leaking, maybe the dealer will throw in a new gasket if it hasn't had it done to it yet.

Well, it'* starting to look like never. I went there to arrange a deal
but, just make things short, they wanted me to write them a check
for about $1000 on top of my trade to cover taxes etc and could
not meet the monthly paymentthat I could afford .I guess I will
give a week or two and see if they still have it and try again.
It'* that or hold out for one with lower miles. :( :(

That'* what they were asking for my 98 when I got it. But I only needed 700 down, and all I had to do was mention I was friends with the guy who used to do thier commercials to get a grand knocked off...

Kepp an eye on it, it is a steal. Maybe finance with someone other than them? Bank? Credit Union? Third party loan people?

My bet is you'll have another shot at it. They'd rather see a sure deal than chance sitting on it another month. Remember....they'll want to thin the lot before Jan 1st, too, so you may want to go back next week.
