Pirelli Tires??
#11
i had Pirelli tires on my jaguar, i put them on at 50k, they were 50k mile rated and at 70k the belts inside one was breaking loose and all the tires were looking mighty worn. They also didnt give my car a good feel on the road they also seemed to to have alot of road noise. i went with a goodyear eagle F1'* and i'm just over 80k miles and they are extremely quiet and ride so smooth. I just really wasnt impressed with Pirrelli tires at all.

I still thinking my Bridgestone Potenza G 009s are insane. You can't break em loose in the rain even unless you're acting like a retard. Dry traction is awesome too, once again you need to be acting like a retard to get them to break grip with the pavement.

I have Pirelli P400 touring on my '93 and Pirelli P Zero Nero on the '03.
Dry and wet traction is awesome with both tires.
Snow on the P400 would probably be good if they weren't bald due to my very heavy foot
Snow on the P Zero Nero is not great either. They are rated as a M&* tire, but much more then a few inches and they don't get much grip. While they are tollerable for sure, there are much better choices for an all around tire I think. I do really like this tire overall though. Cheap, great grip, good looks.

I just picked up an 05 SLE with brand new P-Zero'* on it. So far they are OK. Rougher ride and hard compound are different than any other tire I have had before. So Max, how do they run in the snow. I am in northern WI and will have to run these for a while. How do they act in extreme cold or on ice?
Thanks, Popp

Old thread here, havent seen some of these members in awhile. Tires are a tough one to critique and trust judgement. Models within brands vary greatly and characteristics depend on the driver. I burned the $250 OEM Goodyear T/A'* to the wear bars in 18K. Switched up and toasted BF'* in 19k. I have heard some good things about Pirelli'* but handling snow not one of them. I did like the snow handling of the BF'* over Goodyear. Hard to find a tire with grip And wear. Being a grip kind of guy, I'm looking basiclaly for grip rating and price. Cheap enough to grind them up as long as they dont split apart @ 150MPH.

150 MPH???? I haven't had my Bonnie over 80 believe it or not, and I have yet to even squeal the front tires or do a burn out. Am I getting old or what?

Squeal the tires? I boil them. LOL! Mixing a little water in acetone gets the rubber chunks off your inner fenderwells without pulling off to much of the plastic. Then Armorall so they dont chalk.
