so you all know about my WOT when the cat is hot problem and that the best anyone here can think of that hasnt been tryed is the fuel pump not pumping enough when it gets hot...Anyway resently me Gastank started to leak :x so i will be replacing it and the fuel pump since in there and even if its not the problem its still 14years old and could stand to be updated  , so i got it all priced out tank, sender, and pump which was around 325 if memory serves an that work was going to be done next week. and yesterday my car was up on the hoist because i keep hearing a squeaking/creaking sound from the strut so we check it out quick, and it looks like my left rear is on its way out  (lots of play at the top) AND my read break is sticking on  . also it seams to me that my ELC pump run a hell of alot so im thinking i got a leak in one of the struts

And now to top to the whole funking $hit fest off I got this today.......
pulling out from work and a big Yukon through up a big stone and now there is this 2" wide chip in the windsheild

I'd followed that Yukon and ...

Bugsi 09-02-2006 03:34 AM

A guy driving on the shoulder tossed a rock and did that to mine. I got his license number and took it to the local CHP. -They didn't care. I filed a report, but they just didn't care. Desk clerk told me "It'd be your word against his." I was like "But the guy was driving COMPLETELY on the shoulder! WTF??" -They didn't care. Said I could try my insurance co, they might get a settlement out of the other guy's insurance co., -except that for me, the cost of a windshield is less than the cost of my deductible. I'm already on my third windshield, we have limestone trucks on our roads for a local company that makes cement, and their trucks leave a wake of rocks behind them, that have been responsible for one of my cracked windshields.

As much as I hate to say it, when this happens, I think you're just screwed and all you can do is pay for a new windshield.

I feel you pain. Been there. Done that. Still have a chip from the last one, waiting for one more good crack before I go for my fourth windshield.

While we're on the subject, my Bonnie has a nice little crack on the bottom-left corner, about an inch below the HUD projection. It's only about 3 or 4 inches in length, but does it still pose a safety issue? I have full-coverage, I just don't want my Bonnie in the shop for that long :-P

call ahead of time and tell them you have a HUD windsheild.
should only take about an hour.

well ONE problem is fixed, after about 3 hours on the hoist to take the rear drum off on the stuck break (yes i drove with it on...ALOT :? ) it turned out to be the small spring had broken and the shoes where not coming back in. Is this a common problem? because its the 3rd that i have broken and there was evadidance that it had happen before i got hte car awell (peice of spring inbeded in the shoe  )

also the chip wasnt 2" that was just a pissed off exaduration...its only 1.25" accross

still need a windsheild , rear shocks, Gastank/fuel pump/sender, and possible nes bushings and stuff inthe rear suspention for good measure

Drifter420 09-06-2006 11:28 AM

Peter.. that sucks. I recently did the rear brake shoes/drum.. and notice ALSO  that my left rear strut is having a small leak issue too

Mine was cause I drove bout 5km with parkin brake on ( for some reason.. my brake lights don't come on when parking brake is engaged.. and I was wondering why my car was lugging ) so needless to say.. worn out pads.. glazed and overheated.. so started crackin on the pads..

I just replaced my front right side stuck caliper.. if that makes you feel better

Try going to speedy autoglass.. they maybe able to silicone fill the crack on the windshield for like $24-$50 CAD.. had it done on my previous car and you can't notice it ( I can cause I know where it is.. but it's barely even noticeable )
