OUGH!

Hey everybody,

I'm a second time owner of a Pontiac Bonneville. My first was a sweet, green 96 SE that was recently totaled by a kid doing 45mph before he found the left rear of her mighty fine rear end as it was parked in front of my house. :( It was ugly after. She had 96k on the odom. The funny thing is, I never parked her in the street, but my wife moved it in the street so she could get out of the driveway and I hadn't moved it back into the driveway yet. http://members.cox.net/rclaxton/ What can you do? Stuff happens.

On a good note. On the fourth of July I went out a purchased a silver 01 SLE, 43k. She doesn't have quite the same ride or handle quite like my 96 baby did, even with all the extra bells and whistles, but she too is a sweet ride. I was wondering if anyone had any simple, do-it-yourself, tips or references that might help me increase her performance.

Thanks all

I hate seeing that stuff. Good thing nobody was in your car, would of been some MAJOR whiplash. Was the other driver OK?

Anyways, welcome to the club. You'll find lots of good info and people here. There's a lot of performance stuff you can do, Intake, headers, rockers, DHP, ect. Preaty much as much as you want to spend, the parts are avavilable

Nice color on your new ride BTW :D

Wow, that sucks! Nice new ride though, welcome to the 00+ club. You may want to put your car stats in your sig, make it easier for people to answer questions for you.

Yea, I started to type mine and notice he posted while I was writing...I think he just trolls all the forums and pounces when he sees fresh game.... ;)

TaylorD 10-19-2003 10:52 AM

No need to be sorry, it's just every where I look I see a WHITE AURORA!!!!
Are you trying to drive me MAD? I miss my baby EVERYTIME I see your sig.

Jim W 10-19-2003 11:04 AM

I'm in the process of changing my sig....to make it ever more difficult for you bud...

And Todd, yep :D I troll on

Sol 10-19-2003 11:10 AM

That's a bad hit. I hope that kid learned his lesson. Welcome to the club.

Robin 10-19-2003 11:29 AM

Thanks everyone for the quick responces. You guys are great. This could be the start of something good.

Your right 89BonnieSE89 I'll never forget my first. She was a sweet ride. Oh well.....

TaylorD, I would have preferred another Green, but the silver is growing on me. Don't need to wash it as often. :) Yes we are lucky no one was hurt. Five minutes earlier my daughter was walking my grand daughter in her stroller in front of the house. Thank God it happened when it did.

Rogue, not mch of a sig, but I've added what I know.

Thanks again all

Those were quite the set of rims you had on the SE...still got em?

Robin 10-19-2003 12:22 PM

No, the rims were only on the car for 3 months before the crash and the Insurance company bought them with the car. I got them on sale from Sears, for 75.00 ea. They were 15x7 AERO Polished aluminum (item#09511638). They look'd good.

bonnie94ssei 10-19-2003 12:45 PM

Damn kid. I would have kicked his A$$. Sorry that happened. But glad you got another Bonne!

That's why I don't park in the street. That stuff rarely happens but it could happen to anyone. Glad you weren't in the car when it happened.

Good luck on your new Bonne and have fun modifying it!

Jim W 10-19-2003 03:46 PM

Robin??

They were only 15's??? really? and from Sears...sweet...lol, $75 clams each is pretty good. To bad they are gonzo, they suited the car really nicely

I wanted to bonnie94sse. I wanted to real bad, but my wife and kids saved his bonie butt.

Yes, all true, the rims were only 15's. I checked the paper work, I still have, to make sure. I agree they really suited the car. They really popped against the dark green paint. My 01 has the chrome Pontiac rims. They look good too. They're just a little harder to keep clean. The polished finish looks just as good and doesn't show dirt a much as the chrome does. It's all good.

LittleHoov 10-19-2003 08:02 PM

Green 96 SE's are awesome man *cough cough* *points down at sig*.......those were some cool lookin rims though. if i had money i might buy a set of 16's to replace mine.
