Link.

How much should I start off since I am making a cash offer? Im going to shoot for 2,500 but not go over 3,000.

Oh yea, Carfax reported a rear-end in 1998 but no frame damage.

Appear disinterested, almost like buying the car is going to inconvenience you. Tell him that for what you see in front of you, $2,400 is the right price. Point out imperfections, talk about things that bug you. Tell him that whats there is adequate. Let him offer you something like $3200 or such. Be prepared to walk away and call back later that night or tomorrow.
Expect to settle around 2800-3100 depending on how good a job you do.

I hope it works out for you. I love my 95!

make sure that everything works on the car, pay attention to the CCR as that can be a way to lower the price

Areas for you to bring down the price.
No SSEi floormats...oh man....Big money to find them.
No trunk bag.....SSEi came with a trunk bag... $200 retail
CCR ... make sure both button lights are not on or blinking. Only one light at a time. Play with it..make sure it works
Steering wheel controls. By now the pushers have got to be horrible..make sure you find ones that aren't working well.
Gauges...let that baby heat up.. low speed fans are on at 215... watch the gauge to see where it actually says it comes on...that would be a new cluster...
Try all fuctions of the AL7'*...all buttons..both seats..don't assume it all works on both.
Wear on driver side seat bolster
Cupholder...in center console and latch...

Tons of little things will bring the price down....

Open the trunk and toss in a load of bricks..or just sit on the edge...wait 45 seconds and presto...ELC should bring it back up.

I disagree with picking away at the little items. If you're disinterested, you aren't supposed to know what little details the SSEi came with.

Haggle them down on the 'decreased gas mileage', the premium fuel cost, and the insurance premiums for the Supercharged cars.

Agreed. Find obvious things to cavetch about, not the things you'd need to be a member of this board to know about :P

Worked for me on the 97...

I suppose it depends on what works best for your personal style...

I looked at the car..pointed out tons of stuff...walked away
called the next day knowing no one else had asked about it.

All I can say is, don't be a dick. When I'm working with a customer, and I know he wants it, I'll work with him and give the best price. If you haggle a little bit, thats fine, jjust be realistic. I won't give someone as good of a deal if they try to beat me up on the price, because I don't like doing buisiness with ********. Also, if you comment on things, make sure you know what you are talking about, the salesman does it for a living and most likely knows his product well, I know I do.

Im passing this car up cus it wasn't in a decent condition overall. Scratches, paint chips, the inside was completely worn and shitty and the HUD didn't work. Overall was a crappy car. But thanks for the info, when I go to the next place ill be sure to use it!
